The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The last couple of weeks have been so much fun.  I finished my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving so I have had time to enjoy this month.

We went to North Pole City for Santa pictures.  It is such a beautiful store...if I win the lottery tonight my tree will have lots of things from there hanging on it.  Easton was grumpy when we went and woke up from his nap with a fever.  Addi said she wanted a microphone and Easton said he wanted a pink bike.  I will let you guess which one is getting their Christmas wish.

A couple of weekends ago, it snowed a little but it was really icy outside.  We rarely have a day that we do not go somewhere.  We always go the gym or library or zoo so it was so nice to be at home for a couple of days.  We took it easy we were lazy and we went to see Frozen.  It was so bitter cold that weekend.  This week has been beautiful in the 60's so tomorrow, a week before Christmas, is a zoo day.
We went to see Mrs. Clause and Christmas lights with Janie and Brian, we have watched Christmas movies, made homemade hot chocolate.  Addi and Easton have been so much fun this year.

Last catch up post...Halloween-Thanksgiving
Addi was Ariel
Easton was a fisherman

They were fun this year we went to several Halloween carnivals so by the time Halloween actually got here they were not so excited about wearing the costumes.  They looked so cute going to each house.

Justin was at the station this year so we hung out at home until after naps then went to the station.  We had a lot a lot a lot of food!  I don't like that Justin has to work some holidays but it is so much fun to go to the fire station and be with everyone.  We just show up and eat the firemen cook and clean up.  This year they weren't even called out while we were there.  So many things to be thankful for this year!

Pumpkin Patch

Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love the colors the smells and I love Halloween.  This year we went to the myriad gardens for their pumpkin patch and it was my favorite one we have visited so far.  It was beautiful, I would have liked to have gone back for a day to myself and just look.

Best Moment of the week

For the past 4 days we have been at the lake for the first time this summer.  It has been stuck in the mud since April and we have had so much rain that the ground wouldn't dry out.
On Thursday, Justin was able to get the trailer unstuck.  On our way to get the trailer on Saturday we got an inch of rain in less than an hour so we spent an hour and a half getting it out.  Justin worked on the trailer and I tried to entertain two little people.

When we go camping we eat a lot of crap.  I always feel bloated and nasty.  Justin eats a lot too but then he goes on a run with weights in his back pack and carries a log.  BARF

But we finally made it and had a good weekend.

Just Relaxing

Last week I worked 5 days it has been a long time since I worked 5 days in a row.  So glad this week is back to normal.  We have just been enjoying taking it easy.

Mason Jars

I went to an antique store and they wanted $80 for a mason jar full of buttons.  Good thing my mom had the same thing at her house for $0!  Justin thinks they are old lady decorations.  I really like jars and mason jars.  I tied juke (???) around a mason jar and added the flowers.  I like having fresh flowers on my table.

It is starting to feel like summer! We have had 90  degree weather all week.  No Rain!
So that means some sprinkler time

Ice Cream Time

Cruising around in the dunebuggy

The rest of the weekend

We had a better day on Sunday.  The electricity on was good.

After church Justin played in a benefit baseball game.  They raised over $8000 for a firefighters family.  He passed away from cancer about a month ago.  Firefighters vs. Police and the firefighters won.  Justin works for a wonderful department they have some of the best people.
And this happened.  Kind of cute.

Here we go again

Friday night we had another night of bad weather and some time in the storm shelter.  When I went to work the air felt so thick it was different than just being humid.  We ended up going to the storm shelter around 7 and didn't leave until after 9.  It has been a crazy couple of weeks.  This time we had 5 adults and Addi and Easton in the shelter.  Easton pooped within the first 30 minutes.  We lost power again for over 24 hours but atleast we did have water.  We are going to have to replace our fence, an adjuster is coming on Thursday to check the roof and Addi hopes Santa brings her another trampoline.
These pictures do not do justice to what our town looks like.  It is so so sad.  I hate to complain about no power when this is a common sight.  There are so many things you don't think about.  We have a generator that we can hook up but it only has enough power for the fridge and tv.  A generator runs on gas and we couldn't get any gas because no one has electricity so you can only run it a couple of hours.  There is nowhere to go you can't eat out because they have no electricty.  The stop lights don't work so traffic is Horrible.  It really is never ending.  My work was hit by a small tornado so now there is desruction all around my areas.
There are stray animals walking everywhere and people just wondering around.  I am so thankful we are all fine the stuff that happened to us is just an annoyance but please continue to pray for the ones that lost family and homes.  It is devasting.  We had several people at church that had lost loved ones and they just look BROKEN.
