Blessed to be a called Momma by these two sweet faces. Justin had been gone for the entire week before Mother's Day so what I really wanted was to be alone for an entire week hour. After church we just came home and spent the day together. Nothing fancy just play outside and cooked out perfect way to spend the day.

make up
I have a tendency to use the same old thing. So I went wild and tried some new eyeshadows. These are a few of my favorite things. The mascara is from Lancome and it is my absolute favorite. I have tried drug store brands, mary kay and Mac and this is by far the best. It cost around $35. The silver tube is called Anastasia brow gel. It is basically hair gel for your eyebrows. My eyebrows are a bit crazy they grow down and because I have super sensitive skin if I get my eyebrows waxed I have a scab that only goes away when all the hairs grow back. You can get this at Sephora for $23 and it lasts forever.
One night, while in college my sister came to visit me. We drank A LOT of berry vodka in the Albertsons parking lot. So later that evening when she said I should let her pluck my eyebrows I agreed. Great Idea because when she paused from her masterpiece I decided to take a look and she had plucked HALF of my eyebrow off. Lengthwise so they were still bushy and only went to the center of my eye. You think it sucks to grow out your hair?? Well try growing out your eyebrow.
The cream colored tube is eyeshadow primer. It is Urban Decay brand bought at sephora for around $25. This goes on before you put on your eyeshadow and it really makes your eyeshadow look so much better. The color in the eyeshadow shows up more so you dont use as much and it doesn't crease. Love this stuff and it lasts a long time. Your shadow will look like you just put it on all day long.
The eyeshadow I bought is Urban Decay Naked 2 palate. I bought it at Sephora and it was either $38 or $48. I wanted it for a while before I bought it because I didn't want to pay that much for eyeshadow. SO glad I did I love all the colors and they really seem to show up with out using a lot.

INK
When I was in high school, I decided a tattoo would be nice. I wanted a sun that was about the size of a quarter on my ankle. A sun because it has no significant meaning to me. So one day, my boyfriend and myself traveled to a little town called Dumas. Tattoos use to be illegal in Oklahoma and lucky for me the most talented tattoo artist lived only 60 miles south of the Oklahoma border. So I searched and searched for the perfect sun. Really just looked at the binder that was on the coffee table. When I showed him the picture and told him I wanted it quarter sized he said no that he could not make it any smaller. So I did the smart thing and said ok that size is good.
When I returned home, my sister told me that my mom had been looking for me all day and she accidently told my mom that I went to Dumas. Great. So when my mom asked if I had been in Dumas all day I lied and acted like she was the total idiot.
For the next few weeks, I wore my dr marten sandals and my long socks to work. When I got to work I would ditch the socks so that everyone could admire my art. After my dad made a surprise visit to my work and I had a small heart attack I decided it was time to tell my parents.
I told my mom first. Little background here if my mom was mad at me oh well it was probably because she was over reacting. If my dad was mad at me I was heartbroken. So when I told my mom she just stared at me and finally said well you get to tell your dad. Ok... I tell my dad I have to tell him something...his face went white. Now I know that if your daughter is in high school says I have to tell you something, somewhere in your head pregnant pregnant is going to pop up. So when you say you have a tattoo your dad is not that upset.
I am just so glad that I picked something that describes me and is pretty.
Pretty Ugly.

Babysitter
A lot of things change when you have kids. Most things I don't miss much or maybe you just get use to your new way of life. One thing I do miss is time with Justin. We try to have one of us at home with the kids while the other one works so that means a lot of the time one of us is working. We usually have one day a week that we are both home. On those days, I like it to be all of us and usually end up doing something like going to the zoo.
But this past weekend we hired a babysitter to watch Addi and Easton while we went out to eat. She is our neighbor and her parents have told us many time that she would love to babysit. I guess I never asked because I was nervous we have only had family adult family watch them and if they couldn't then we just didn't go.
So I asked and she said she would love to. I told her to come over at 6:30 and she was here at 6:00 just in case I needed to tell her anything. When we got back Addi was eating a hotdog and Easton was carrying a weiner around giving the dogs bites in between his own bites. They were happy they were safe and they were sleepy.
When we got home her dad texted and said how happy she was we had asked her and that she was excited all week. Then he thanked ME for trusting her and that she had a good time.
I think we will be going to dinner more often.
I had to crop Easton out of this picture because that is another thing when you have kids you no longer have pictures with just the two of you.

Rice and Beans
We are at home a lot so we get bored a lot. We are alway looking for new ways to keep ourselves entertained.
I bought rice and beans and dumped them in buckets transfering them from cups to bowls to buckets used up an hour of our day. Even Easton was entertained.
.99 cent can of Barbasol made a fun bath time.

Happiness
My little sister and I use to fight every single night about who got to sit next to my dad at the diner table. My mom would make us switch each day so we both had a turn. And then one day we just stopped. We grew up. My sister and would hook the leash on our dog Buddy and walk to the end of the block and wait for my dad to drive by after work and let us all ride around the block with him. And then one day we just stopped. We grew up. About a year after my dad died, my mom cleaned out his wallet and gave me a post it note she found tucked away in one of the pockets. The paper was folded the creases thin and fragile, almost translucent. I had written in my best first grade handwriting Laura loves John. And he kept it all those years.
Some days it is so hard to STOP. Just stop. Because even though addi is only 4 and Easton is one one there are things that one day they just stopped. One day they are so small you hold them on your chest and then they grow up and they are on you hip and then they grow up and you don't hold them anymore.
Sometimes we need to stop looking so hard for happiness. It is right there staring us in the face. Happiness is a husband that brings you a diet dr pepper at 7:30 a.m. It's a little girl that tells you that you are her favorite and then gives you a big wink that her daddy taught her. It's a little boy that hovers at your legs when a stranger is near because you're his home base his safe place. Happiness is all right here.

Boys Boys Boys
Sometimes I worry that Easton will not get the full experience of being a little boy because I have no idea what it is like to have a little boy. I don't know what little boys do. I can't wait for Easton to show me what little boys do. I can't wait to hear his thoughts and his views on the world. Maybe how to be a little boy is already in him. I did not teach him how to walk around the outside of the trampoline net or how to climb on top of the water faucet at the dr office. I did not teach him to take his diaper off and laugh hysterically as he pees on the side of the bathtub. I love having a little boy.
